Casino night themed parties are a great option to consider for your next big bash. Most people will love the creativity of the theme. It’s a great way to entertain your guests and you can run wild with the theme or keep it to an intimate gathering. Many companies offer casino themed party rentals, and some host the entire party for you. If you want to throw the party yourself here’s what you need to know…
Invites: Many places will sell themed invites. If you can’t find the perfect invite make them yourself on your home computer. This way you can make it look exactly how you want. There are many online companies that will print up invites at very low costs as well.
Attire: Have your guests dress in cocktail attire to add to the feel of the Vegas theme. This should be noted on the invites so your guests know ahead of time.
Food: Keep it simple. Since your guests will be up mingling and playing games you don’t want anything too hard to eat. Appetizers on toothpicks and finger foods will be your best bet. This way their hands will stay clean and your gaming areas will also. To keep with the theme red and black tableware looks great against a green tablecloth, just like a deck of cards. You can play with food items, and offer your guests clams casino, or other themed items. If you will be drinking at your party, classic cocktails will add to the ambiance. Think martinis and daiquiris. Make your guests feel as if they are in Las Vegas.
Décor: This is an easy theme to decorate any space with. Many chain party stores have generic decorations for a casino themed party. Signs designating the gaming areas (Blackjack, Poker) will add to the feel of the party. Other signs can read “High Roller” “Lady Luck” or “777″. Use your imagination and even your creative skills to make these signs yourself. Old decks of cards, with missing cards can be strung together and hung from the ceiling as decoration.
Gaming: If you are not having the party professionally hosted you can buy felt game tables online pretty cheap, or even find them at some stores. Have your guest compete to see who has the most chips (fake money) at the end of the night and offer a prize. Choose games that are easy to learn, not everyone at the party will know how to play. This will be a great way to get everyone involved. The experts will teach the novices and everyone will interact with each other. If possible have your dealers wear vests and hats to add to the feel.
Music: Choose music that is neural to all age ranges if the guests will be a varied crowd. It’s always a good idea to go with music that reminds you of Las Vegas. Think big band, swing, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis; lounge style music. Some websites have premade compilation cd’s ready to buy to take the guesswork out of it. Party classics are also good. Think what music they always have at weddings. You can even set up a karaoke machine at the party and have your guests entertain each other with their best Elvis, Sinatra, or Wayne Newton impersonation.
